Lighthouse Kids Books is a registered company of which Boitumelo (Tumi) Erasmus and Jamie-lee (Jamie) Nortje are the directors. At Lighthouse, we write and design personalized story books for children of all ages. Our books focus on instilling values such as: acceptance, love, kindness and empathy through creative illustrations and simplistic yet imaginative stories. Read more on why our books are unique.

Our very first book is about teaching children to accept and celebrate themselves as well as those around them. The book is titled (Name of the child) Goes to the Hairdresser e.g. Mica Goes to the Hairdresser. The characters have been especially designed to represent children from diverse cultural backgrounds.

In our second book, (Name of Child) and the Rabbit’s Mirror, the main character (child) goes on an adventure to help the animal kingdom. This story aims to teach children about the beauty that can be found in the people around them.

Helping children see that there is more to people than just their skin colour/physical appearances; this book makes use of animal characters to bring home the message of acceptance. The underlying theme being that our differences should be celebrated and accepted instead of ignored and rejected.

Our customized books make great gifts; are ideal for bonding with your child and most importantly, it will help parents instill important values in the lives of their children. Each book has a Reflection Time where parents and children can ponder on the lesson of the story. We wrote a special rhyme at the end of each book to bring home the message of acceptance, love, kindness and empathy.
